The last four months sure have been going fast!!! The first three months of Kaeli's life were a revolving door of illness. Between the kids and I we had two or three of us sick constantly. Mastitis for me, twice, along with three colds. Colten had croup 3 times (one time we were told to go to the ER because no matter what we did he was barely breathing) and a double ear infection. Chest infection for Cameron. Kai had a chest infection and ear infection. Little Kaeli had 3 colds and thrush....twice! Luckily by Christmas we were getting back to normal and the whole family was together again. Hayden finally got to meet his little sister. He really enjoyed her, just like the rest of the boys. They are all growing up so fast. At Kaeli's 4 month check up she was 14lbs 11oz and 25 inches. She seems on the smaller side to me but apparently she is in the high 70th percentile for height and weight. Hayden, Cameron and Colten are having a great year at school. Kai just gets funnier everyday. He adores his little sister. He has is still busy but is not showing those "terrible twos" so much. We are enjoying watching these kids grow everyday. They never cease to amaze us.

On September 12th @ 8:27 p.m. our little princess Kaeli Rosemary was born. She weighed 7lbs. 6oz. and was 19 inches long (although they ended up writing down 18 but the doctor said she is definitely longer than that and when she came out they said 19). Her first name is after my dear friend Kaeli. It felt only fitting to name our little angel after a true angel. And of course, her middle name is after my Mom. Who, I might add, is not only my Mom but also my best friend. Kaeli has been just amazing and we all can't get enough of her. The boys just adore her. We are truly lucky to have such beautiful, wonderful kids. Here are some pictures of her so far. She is even cuter in person!!

Seems like it was not that long ago we brought Kai home and now he is 2!!! What can we say about Kai......he always puts a smile on our face and laughter in our hearts. He is one of the funniest, most adventurous, wild, lovable little guys. He is starting to show his independent and very stubborn side. He talks so much and it seems like he soaks up everything around him. There is never a dull moment with him. He really enjoys playing outside, riding his bikes, and trying to do everything his brothers do. We went to Jumpin Jacks to celebrate. It has indoor bounce houses and some video games.. The boys had a blast. Can't wait to see what this next year will bring and how much more Kai will continue to grow. We love our little Kai the guy!!!!

Well, these are a little old but here are the ultrasound pics of our little girl! I had two done so you'll be able to see the second one there is no doubt that she is a she:) I am due Sept. 20th. We feel blessed to be having a beautiful healthy baby above all, but are definitely excited to be having a girl. We already have so many cute things. I am sure she will be spoiled like the rest of the kids here. We can't wait to meet her!!

This year we didn't do anything major for the 4th. We went to watch the fireworks in Tumwater. They sure were pretty. We lit off a few the weekend before at Dave's brother's house. Overall it was a nice show and a nice clear night.

I agree with Ali (Hayden's Mom), when she said he just growing up way too fast! 11 years have gone by so fast and now Hayden is going to be a in Middle School! He is such a great kid. He loves sports. He also enjoys his scooter, skateboard and BMX bike. He spent most of his free time riding these on the ramp out back. He LOVES all of his siblings, 6 soon to be 8. He is a great helper. He helped Dave with siding and painting on the house. He helped me everyday with a lot of things, especially with getting ready for our garage sale. We went to the Federal Way community center for his birthday. They had 2 indoor pools. One had a big, fast water slide, lazy river, swimming area and a toddler play area. The other pool had laps, toys and a diving board. They also had a huge indoor basketball court. The kids had a blast. You were not allowed to take pictures though. He has two wonderful families that love him and we are all lucky to have him in our lives! Happy Birthday Buddy Boy!!

Our little Colty isn't so little anymore. He has become such a big kid over the past year. Preschool has been really great for him. He of course loves Sparkleberry's and has really come out his shell. He remembers every detail of his days while he is there......right down to what people were wearing. Can't believe one more year and he will be in kindergarten! He is a great kid. He is smart, gentle, stubborn:), and he is a great helper with Kai. We love him so very much and couldn't imagine life without him. We love you Colten the boy!!!

I just cannot believe how fast time is flying. Cameron had another fantastic year at school and we couldn't be any prouder of him. He has a big imagination and is always thinking about something. His ability to retain facts about sharks, bugs, and most things scientific never ceases to amaze us. We love you and are so happy that you are our son!!

It seems harder and harder to get on here. We have had busy winter and spring and I haven't had time to update this blog like I want to. I am going to try though:) Most of you probably know that we found out that we are having another baby, Sept. 20th. It wasn't so much fun in the first 4 months. I was not feeling well at all, to put it lightly. But now, besides the normal back pain, heartburn and reflux, I am feeling much better. Our little GIRL, that's right it isn't a misprint, is growing just beautifully and we are so grateful for our healthy little bundle of joy. The boys are all doing great. Growing up so so so fast!!!! By the end of summer we will have an 11, 8, 5 and 2 year old!!! And of course a new baby to follow. They are such good boys and we are truly lucky!! So here are some pics of the past few months and hopefully I can do this more often now that school is out!!

First we started off the fall season by going to the pumpkin patch with Colten's preschool. It was fun as usual. Then we carved our pumpkins, and they turned out great! Next, it was trick or treating time of course!! We had a Bobba Fett (star wars guy), Thomas the tank engine (again), and a cute little frog. The boys were super good and the weather was dry. Kai loved getting candy! He couldn't believe that people kept putting candy in his bag. Kids just make everything so much fun!

We were finally able to make it back to Nebraska this summer. It was our last celebration of summer and thank goodness for the warm, well hot weather. It was a short trip but it was fun. The boys were so good and we had so much fun seeing everyone. Hopefully next summer it'll be a longer trip and we'll go when we have Hayden here. There are a lot of pics and I have had a hard time keeping up with this blog so I won't be labeling them all....much love to all.

Man.......time sure flies. How can this sweet busy little angel be one?!!??? Kai has brought so much joy and laughter into this house. He is such a funny little guy. After we went to the Great Wolf Lodge as part of Hayden's birthday celebration, we had another little celebration at home. I cooked a big seafood dinner (which he loves!!) followed by dessert and presents. His real present was his BMX bike from the beginning of summer but we couldn't have nothing to open on his actual day. I surprised him with clothes....something he is a big fan of these days. He is such a WONDERFUL kid and great big brother. He has not one but two families that love him and I know we are all so proud of him. It is so hard to believe that he is already 10!!!! We LOVE YOU HAYDEN and cherish all the time we get to spend together as a family!!

We had been promising the boys that one of these days we would go and stay at the Great Wolf Lodge. We decided to surprise them and it worked out perfect because it was also for Hayden's 10th birthday celebration. It's an indoor water park attached to a hotel. Basically you pay to stay at the lodge and the water park is free. We had so much fun and didn't want it to end. It was worth every penny to see the smiles on these kids faces. They are worth it!!

We had been thinking about going camping this summer. Dave's good friend Scott suggested that he would bring his boat and Hayden's long time friend Alex and make a long weekend of it. He also brought his cousins Russell and Raymond. I decided to opt out this time since Kai was still in his "I like to put everything in my mouth that I find and choke" phase. I had Colten stay home with me too and we had fun going to Chuckee Cheese's, playing trains and anything else he wanted to do. So, he didn't mind getting so much attention to himself. Needless to say the boys all had a great time camping and Dave took a ton of pictures. They road bikes, swam in the lake, rode in Scott's boat, walked on the trail and got to eat all of the good junk that goes along with camping. Scott is such a good friend and the boys love him too! They really had a wonderful time and next summer we look forward to all of us going.

When I saw that Day Out With Thomas was coming again this summer right around Colten's birthday, I knew we had to go. Anyone who knows our Colty knows he is a very BIG Thomas fan and has been since he was 1. Our nephew Nicholas, who is 2 now, is also a fan of Thomas so we wanted them all to come along too. For the 4th of July we went to our best friends Sam and Morgan's house in Bellingham, WA. Total there were 7 kids......needless to say we were busy. They have a tree house that the boys camped in and all of the girls and Kai slept inside. We had lots of fireworks and had lots of fun. We sure love our friends!!!

We came into this year really just hoping that Cameron would have a good year. To us that meant make some friends an just overall do okay in class. His year was better than okay it was amazing. Sometimes it's so easy to forget that a few years ago we didn't know what next week was going to hold for Cameron, let a lone kindergarten. He has come so far and we couldn't be more proud or grateful. Another big part of his success was that he had the BEST teacher EVER!!! Mr. Nye was phenomenal. The kids adored him and so did the parents. It is hard to even put into words. Their ceremony was super cute and it was especially neat because we had Hayden here to share it as a family. We are so lucky and proud of all our kids!!!!

We had a wonderful spring break this year. It was especially great because Hayden was here. The boys had so much fun together just doing there everyday things. Kai finally got to meet Hayden and he took to him immediately. We went to the Hand's On Museum too. They had put in some new things like a moon sand table and it was a great time as usual. We are excited for summer to come so we can spend more time with Hayden. After he left Cameron said "It's just not the same without Hayden." They do all truly love each other and it is so fun to watch them interact.

So I am getting behind here. Easter weekend was a lot of fun. First on Saturday we went to our nephew Nicholas 2nd birthday party. It was at Becky's parents house. It was a great time as always. They had an Easter egg hunt set up for kids. All the Durbin kids were there and it's always nice to see how well they all get along. Then on Easter we hung out as a family and enjoyed a nice relaxing day together with wonderful food. We are truly blessed.

We have had some new things happening the past month. Cameron can now officially ride his bike with no training wheels. The day after he did it he asked me if I was still proud of him. I told him my pride for him never goes away. Colten has enjoyed riding his bike as well. He has loves going around the block, with me of course! Kai is almost completely crawling. As soon as he figures out how to lift up his butt he'll be completely gone. That's what is new in our little world.

Dear President Obama,

I understand you may be looking to replace Rahm Emanuel as your chief of staff.

I would like to humbly offer myself, yours truly, as his replacement.

I will come to D.C. and clean up the mess that's been created around you. I will work for $1 a year. I will help the Dems on Capitol Hill find their spines and I will teach them how to nonviolently beat the Republicans to a pulp.

And I will help you get done what the American people sent you there to do. I don't need much, just a cot in the White House basement will do.

Now, don't get too giddy with excitement over my offer, because you and I are going to be up at 5 in the morning, 7 days a week and I am going to get you pumped up for battle every single day (see photo). Each morning you and I will do 100 jumping jacks and you will repeat after me:

"THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ELECTED ME, NOT THE REPUBLICANS, TO RUN THE COUNTRY! I AM IN CHARGE! I WILL ORDER ALL OBSTRUCTIONISTS OUTTA MY WAY! IF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DON'T LIKE WHAT I'M DOING THEY CAN THROW MY ASS OUT IN 2012. IN THE MEANTIME, I CALL THE SHOTS ON THEIR BEHALF! NOW, CONGRESS, DROP AND GIVE ME 50!!"

Then we will put on our jogging sweats and run up to Capitol Hill. We will take names, kick butts, and then take some more names. If we have to give a few noogies or half-nelson's, then so be it. In our pockets we will have a piece of paper to show the pansy Dems just how much they won by in 2008 -- and the poll results that show the majority of Americans oppose the Afghanistan and Iraq wars and want the bankers punished. Like drill sergeants, we will get right up in their faces and ask them, "WHAT PART OF THE PUBLIC MANDATE DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND, SOLDIER?!! DROP AND GIVE ME 50!"

I know this is the job Rahm Emanuel was supposed to be doing.

Now, don't get me wrong. I have always admired Rahm Emanuel (if you don't count his getting NAFTA pushed through Congress in the '90s which destroyed towns like Flint, Michigan. I know, picky-picky.). He is what we needed for a long time -- a no-apologies, take-no-prisoners fighting machine. Someone who is not afraid to get his hands dirty and pound the right wing into submission. Far from being the foul-mouthed bully he has been portrayed as, Rahm is the one who BEAT UP the bullies to protect us from them.

That's certainly what he did in 2006. After six long, miserable years of the middle-class getting slaughtered and the poor being flushed down the toilet, Rahm Emanuel took on the job of returning Congress to the Democrats. No one believed it could be done.

But he did it. Big time. He put the fear of God into the party of Rush and Newt. They had never been so scared. More importantly, though, he instilled a sense of hope in the Democrats that they could actually score the mother of all hat tricks in 2008 -- and with you, an African American no less, in the pole position!

It worked. The Darkness ended. The vast majority of nation wept with joy on the night of the election (those who weren't weeping went out and bought a record number of guns and ammo). Unlike the last president, you didn't "win" by 537 votes in Florida (although Gore won the popular vote by a half-million), you beat McCain nationally by 9,522,083 votes! The House Democrats got a walloping 79-vote margin. The Senate Dems would caucus with a super majority of 60 votes unheard of in over 30 years. The wars would now end. America would have universal health care. Wall Street and the banks would, at the very least, be reined in. Hardworking citizens would not be thrown out of their homes. It was supposed to be the dawning of a new age.

But the Republicans were not going to go quietly into the night. You see, instead of having just one Rahm Emanuel, they are ALL Rahm Emanuels. That's why they usually win. Unlike most Democrats, they are relentless and unstoppable. When they believe in something (which is usually themselves and the K Street job they hope to be rewarded with someday), they'll fight for it till the death. They are loyal to a fault to each other (they were never able to denounce Bush, even though they knew he was destroying the party). They dig their heels in deep no matter what. If you exiled them to a lone chunk of melting polar ice cap, they would keep insisting that it was just a normal "January thaw," even as the frigid Arctic waters rose above their God-fearing necks ("See what I mean -- this water is COLD! What 'global *warming*'?! Adam and Eve rode dinos...aagghh!!... gulp gulp gulp").

We thought we were all done with this craziness, but we were mistaken. Like a beast that you just can't cage, the Republicans convinced not only the media, but YOU and your fellow Dems, that 59 votes was a *minority*! Precious time was lost trying to reach a "consensus" and trying to be "bipartisan."

Well, you and the Democrats have been in charge now for over a year and not one banking regulation has been reinstated. We don't have universal health care. The war in Afghanistan has escalated. And tens of thousands of Americans continue to lose their jobs and be thrown out of their homes. For most of us, it's just simply no longer good enough that Bush is gone. Woo hoo. Bush is gone. Yippee. That hasn't created one new friggin' job.

You're such a good guy, Mr. President. You came to Washington with your hand extended to the Republicans and they just chopped it off. You wanted to be respectful and they decided that they were going to say "no" to everything you suggested. Yet, you kept on saying you still believed in bipartisanship.

Well, if you really want bipartisanship, just go ahead and let the Republicans win in November. Then you'll get all the bipartisanship you want.

Kai is just growing like crazy. He is changing everyday. He is starting to scoot now. He rolls all over the place and can sit up without support. He has his two bottom teeth. He is 19lbs. 12oz. and 28 1/4 inches. Big boy!!! It's amazing how each week he is different. He is such a joy. He laughs and smiles all the time, especially at his brothers. We enjoy him so much and feel so lucky to be parents. It truly is amazing.

We have been busy what can I say. Seems like each day comes and goes a little bit faster. The kids are doing great. Cameron lost his second tooth a week later on New Year's Eve. He had an awesome report for 1st semester. He is doing fantastic. We couldn't be any prouder! Colten is growing like a weed. He is still obsessed with his Thomas trains. He loves being a big brother. Kai is just so funny. He has the best personality for such a little guy. Dave and I are great too. Just busy raising our family. Our love to all!!!

So the day after Christmas we packed up and headed to Whidbey Island. We went to celebrate Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa Durbin. It was fun seeing all the wonderful decorations they have. We were spoiled once again and we all had a great time.

I have to say it was another beautiful Christmas this year. Nothing better than watching the faces of children light up while opening their presents. It's like my Grandpa (Pampa) always said "Christmas is for kids" and I couldn't agree more. We had a nice relaxing day hanging out, watching the kids have fun with their new toys. We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and that 2010 brings happiness and health to all.

Cameron lost his first tooth!!! I kept wiggling it over the last week and it was soooo loose. He didn't want me to pull it with my fingers so I talked him into letting me tie a string around it. It came right out. The one right next to it is also loose. I can't believe he is this big already!! I told him to stop growing and he said "Mom you know I have no control over that"!!!! What a funny kid!

Kai had his 4 month check up yesterday and boy is he growing. He is 17lbs. 4 oz. and 26 1/4 inches. He is high on the charts and oddly enough he is taller than he is chubby. He started rolling over at 3 1/2 months and hasn't stopped since. He can grab toys now and is just so much fun. He has the sweetest personality and the boys just can't get enough of him. Sometimes in life we have days where we look up and say really?!? Yesterday was one of those days. They test us as people and as parents but at the same time make us stronger. I had found marker everywhere, by my oldest mind you, spilt coffee on the cleaned carpet, went to take a shower, finally, and the water was cold. Then Colten came in to tell me he needed a drink of water because he swallowed a quarter (which really means a penny or dime because he calls all coins a quarter). Luckily Dave came right home and I took Colten in. Sure enough as you can see he has a coin in his tummy!!! It's quite hilarious now. Now I get to check his poo everyday until it comes out! Fun!!!!!

Just wanted to post our pumpkin pics. Cameron picked out one on his field trip so I said it would be mine so they could pick big ones at the pumpkin patch. I took them to the store and got pumpkin design books. It was a lot of work but they turned out great!! Cameron picked out a tiny one for Kai and we drew a face on it. On Wednesday we took a trip to the Hunter's farm pumpkin patch. It's the same one we have gone to every year. The weather was nice and clear that day so we really enjoyed ourselves. We fed the goats. It tickles when they eat out of your hands. Dave kept saying we should have one as a pet........nice try Dave. Dave took the boys through the hay maze and then the boys went down the big slide. After that we picked our pumpkins from the patch . It is so nice to create traditions as a family.

Our little Kai is not so little. He's quite high on the charts and it shows. He is 24 inches and 14 lbs. The size of a 4 month old. It is hard to believe that someone so cute can get even cuter every day. He likes to talk to the animals on his mobile. He giggles and smiles and is just a sweet baby. There is no shortage of love for him that's for sure. Cameron and Colten are doing good too. Cameron is reading and doing great in kindergarten. Colten has got his letters down and really wants to read like Cameron too!! He wants to do everything like his big brother. We love our boys so much!!!!!

Has it really been a month already? It's crazy how fast the days are coming and going lately. Kai had his one month check up today. He is growing like crazy!! 11lbs. 130z. and 23 inches!! He's at the top of the charts needless to say and filling out wonderfully. He is so strong and is really starting to notice the world. We had a party on Saturday celebrating his arrival. Our dear friend Sam came up and hosted it. We all had a great time. There were so many kids it was crazy! I just feel blessed to have such good people in our lives and a wonderful little family.

It is crazy how fast time is flying and that summer is coming to an end. My Mom and Dad left today. We had a great time with them. The boys were completely spoiled and loved every minute of it. They definitely deserved it. Kai is just getting bigger and bigger every day! Last Friday he had his 2 week check up and was up to 9lbs. 7oz and was 22 1/2 inches. I must produce miracle grow in my milk!! He is doing wonderful. The boys can't get enough of him and neither can we!!!

Our newest edition has arrived and we couldn't be happier or feel more blessed! Kai David Durbin arrived on 8-13-09 at 10:02 pm. He was 7lbs 13.9 oz and 20 inches long. He got a little banged up on his way out but has healed wonderfully. The boys adore him. They love to have a baby around. Colten is so excited to get his turn at being a big brother. Kai is so lucky to have them and can't wait to meet his other wonderful brother Hayden. We are so amazed every time we witness this miracle of life and are so grateful for a safe delivery and health for us all.

This summer we decided to try glow in the dark miniature golf for Hayden's 9th birthday. It was a lot of fun. I can hardly believe that he is 9 already. He is such a wonderful kid and we love him so much!!! We had a blast playing golf and then came home to have cupcakes and open presents of course! We are so proud of all his accomplishments. A few weeks ago we went on train ride by Mt. Rainier. We went with Dave's parents and our niece and nephew Leah and Matthew too. The kids had a blast and so did we. I can hardly believe that it has been 3 years already!!! We all went to the Tacoma Zoo to celebrate. The kids were so good that we lasted over 4 hours!!!! They even got to ride on a camel which was super cool! Then we came home and had cake and opened presents. It was nice day spent as a family. Happy Birthday Colten!! Here are three videos of Hayden and Cameron at the skate park today. I didn't get Hayden dropping in on the quarter pipe on video. Cameron dropped in on the "big ramp" as well (the same ramp that Hayden did in the videos) and cleared it both times but I didn't get that on video either. Oh well I will have to get it next time I guess. They both needed a little coaxing but accomplished a lot today. They were awesome!!!! Colten spent his time running around and skating on his belly. Dave came with us too. I spent most of my time talking Cameron into going on ramps. I knew once he did it he wouldn't be afraid. His eyes were HUGE when he went down the bigger ramp. He was proud that he made it without crashing. He told me in the car he broke his scares (meaning fears) away. Too funny! Hayden didn't think he could drop in on the quarter pipe but Dave kept encouraging him and he did it no problem. We are so proud of them.

A week ago we went with the Durbin family to Pacific Beach. It was so nice and we all had a great time. The kids were all so good and had a blast together. You could drive your car down to the beach and the sand was wonderful. It was fun watching all the little cousins play together. We hope to go again while Hayden is here seeing as it is only an hour and a half drive away.
