The Fragility of Life

An infectious smile and laugh.

Yesterday I received some terribly tragic news that my beloved Uncle Mark had taken his life. He was only 45 and it seems quite surreal. In times like these it reminds us to let the people we love and care about know just how much we love them. Life is so precious and also fragile. He was a really great guy. I have so many wonderful memories of him. He was there for every family occasion. At the family weddings he was always one of the first ones to get us out on the dance floor. I can still hear him say "Hey Sheree bop". That was how he greeted me every time I saw him. I remember our cat, Emerald, would hide all of the time but for some reason when he was at our house she would always come to him. It's hard to believe he is gone. My heart really goes to my Grandma who is 92. She has witnessed a lot of tragedy in her life and nothing is more tragic than losing a child, especially in situations like these. Not to mention all of the siblings, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews he leaves behind too. It's just heartbreaking to know that at that moment he felt that alone. It truly breaks my heart. Remember to let the people in your life know how much you love them because you truly never know what tomorrow brings. Rest in peace Mark for you are among the angels now. I love you and will miss you very much.

Oh Boy Oh Boy!!!! Little Kai David Durbin

This pic shows it's a boy!!
Oh how I love profile pics!!!!

Well as most of you know we are having another boy. Honestly I couldn't be happier. I have seen how crazy life can be. What mattered to me most at the ultra sound was the tech telling me he was good and healthy. I wouldn't trade our boys for the world and I am sure little Kai will give us as much joy as the other 3 have.
